Mark Orosz I can't pick a favorite. What's not to like? Al maximizes the potential of an old toy synth and creates compositions that will put a smile on anyone's face (anyone with a soul). Favorite track: Tinny Space Journey.

about

What can we do with an old toy synthesizer?

Well, in my opinion, a lot! Of course the instrument in question isn’t that humble. It is a toy for sure, but what a toy! I’m talking about the Yamaha PSS-580, a four octaves mini-keys FM synth released in 1989.

This little one is a rudimentar, but fully editable 2 operators frequency modulation synthesizer, with a drum machine with 9 diferent percussion sounds based on PCM samples, and MIDI capabilities.Adding to this equation a modern computer, with a current software for MIDI and audio editing, what kind of music you can produce? That’s the question I pose to myself.

The goal with this project is to made an album using the PSS-580 as the ONLY sound source for all the tracks.
